The 50-day or 25-weekend, 2-semester dissertation schedule
Estimate that your dissertation will be 100 pages long. Writing at a rate of only one double-spaced page an hour, you will take 14.29 seven-hour days, 3 workweeks or 7 weekends. Figure revisions on one page in four, so add four more days. List dissertation writing as 20 days.

literature search and organization, + 8 workdays;
writing proposal Plan 4 workdays;
researching your committee +2 workdays;
selecting a topic +4 workdays;
researching dissertation formats +2 workdays.
